The Relf family story

On 24th April, 1872, a wedding took place in St James’ Church, Clapham.

The details of Samuel and Louisa’s marriage were also recorded on the ‘Family Register’ pages in their copy of the 1870 Imperial Family Bible

But what became of Samuel and Louisa, and their descendants?  Through extensive research and using archive materials, Jim Grover has pieced together their story especially for this exhibition.

And what a spellbinding story it is.  Those who might have expected ‘…and they all lived happily ever after’ will be sorely disappointed but, nevertheless, spellbound.

The extraordinary and rollercoaster story of the Relf family will be revealed as part of the exhibition.
