About Us
Welcome
We are a Church of England church in Clapham, South London and a diverse, faith community seeking to serve the spiritual and practical needs of our parish.
“Our faith in a loving and connected God, revealed through Jesus, inspires us to be a positive presence in our community. Jesus reveals God’s compassion, justice and is good news to the poor. This inspires us to act by working together with all who wish to make our world a just and kind place, valuing the dignity of all human beings and creation.”
We continue a worshipping and prayerful presence that has been here since 1829 when the parish of St James’ was first created and our first church building was built. You can read more about our history here
The Revd Kit Gunasekera is the vicar of St James’ and is supported by Revd Gilly Bailey-Smith (Assistant Curate) the Revd John Marshall and the Revd John Ohen (Honorary Curates)
